It is time to renew your parking for the 2024-2025 year! The new permit year begins on August 1. Please review the School’s parking policy for information on the parking spots available to School of Pharmacy employees as well as the process by which parking is assigned. All employees with a primary appointment in the School of Pharmacy that will need parking for the 2024-2025 parking year will need to submit a request via the following link: https://unc.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1X6dvXI0fjbc6DI. You must submit your parking request selections no later than end of day Wednesday, July 24.
Employees who request parking will be ranked based on the formula in the policy. Every effort will be made to provide employees with a parking space in their top three preferences. Keep in mind that you may receive a permit for your first, second, or third choice. If there are no available spots in your top three preferences, you will be contacted for a fourth preference based on what permits are left, so be strategic when you are submitting your preferences. Please be thoughtful when ranking your requests – based on the limited spaces available in the W lot and MD Deck, most of those spaces will be given to Executive Vice/Associate/Assistant Deans or employees with significant state service.
As you are making your selections, please note that there were several updates to parking rates that go into effect beginning August 1, 2024 (the start to the 2024-2025 parking year). The main highlights of these changes are included in the list of reminders below and more information can be found here.
Please keep in mind:
- There will be no flex rates starting this parking year, but a daily parking option will be available.
- Daily parking is available for faculty and staff from the School’s parking allocations:
- Daily parking is available through the School’s available permits if you are on campus 3 days or 2 days or less per week
- Hybrid schedules must match your current work location arrangement for staff, or verified by supervisor if you are of faculty.
- Cost: $8 per day for every day you park on campus through the ParkMobile App, regardless of the 3 or 2 day option.
- For example, if you park on campus 3 days a week, the cost would be $8 x 3 = $24
- Employees are responsible for requesting and directly paying for the daily permit through ParkMobile ahead of time each time you park in your assigned lot.
- Guaranteed space in an assigned lot if you receive a daily permit from the School’s available permits.
- If you receive a daily parking permit from the School’s allotments you will receive a person-specific access code for ParkMobile for so your assigned lot shows up in the ParkMobile for you to purchase daily parking from.
- Daily parking permit assignments will follow the School’s allocation formula; requesting a daily permit does not guarantee an assignment.
- Parking fees for full parking permits for permanent employees and postdocs will be payroll deducted.
- There will be no variable rates based on Zone type. Gated lots, decks, and open lots will all have the same annual fee on a sliding salary scale.
- The new standard permit rates can be found in the chart below:
- You may decide to purchase a permit anytime throughout the year; however, by requesting a permit outside of this annual allocation, per the policy, you will be given a space in any available lot, not your preference.
- Based on who participates in the process and their rank/years of service, it is possible that you may not get a space in the same lot from year to year.
- Parking permits are virtual. License plate(s) must be registered through online services to the associated vehicle with the virtual permit.
- Post-docs are considered temporary employees. The University has allocated spaces for post-docs in the Craige Deck and the S11 lots. Postdocs should use the application link above to indicate preference of zone.
It is important that all School of Pharmacy employees take action if you are interested in a parking permit. If you do not submit a response, you will be provided with the available permits at the time of request.
