Academic and Research Intensive Career (ARIC) Cohort Workshop on Navigating Difficult Conversations and Managing Conflict with Dr. Anna O’Connell

Difficult conversations and managing conflict are part of being a leader, yet many of us shy away from tackling these issues. Failing to address problems creates additional stress, can erode trust, and can contribute to an unhealthy work environment. In this workshop you will learn about your own communication style under stress, and some basic strategies for handling conflict through conversation. Please come to the session prepared for a difficult conversation that you currently need to have and we will practice it in this session. This can be work related or personal, it just needs to be something you are willing to share with another participant in a role play scenario.
