Workshop: “Feedback for Learning: How Less Can Often Be More”

September 29, 2017 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Tom Angelo, EdD, CIPhER Executive Director
Clinical Professor of Educational Innovation and Research

Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education

All teachers realize that getting feedback from and giving feedback to students is critical to their learning and success. But most of us also learn from experience just how time-consuming, difficult, and frustrating the feedback process can be – particularly when students fail to make use of (or even hear or read) our comments. In this highly interactive session, you’ll learn useful, sometimes counter-intuitive research findings on effective feedback, along with simple, practical, time-saving strategies for improving the odds that our feedback is read/heard, understood, valued and used.

Box lunches will be provided – for RSVPs only – from 1:00-1:30 p.m.

Please RSVP – “Yes 9/29” only – to cipher@unc.edu by 5 p.m. Wednesday. Sept. 27.
