About American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP)

The mission of AAPP is to advance the reach and practice of psychiatric pharmacy and serve as the voice of the specialty. AAPP envisions a world where all individuals living with mental illness receive safe, appropriate, and effective treatment. AAPP focuses on the values of Excellence, Collegiality, Innovation, Responsiveness, and Compassion while striving for their goal of bringing awareness to mental health and advocating for treatment.

  • How can I join AAPP?
    Please write a $10 check to CPNP and visit cpnp.org to pay national dues.
  • How much are dues?
    $10 for chapter dues and $35 for national dues.
  • What are my responsibilities as a member?
    We encourage you to come to our monthly general body meetings as well as participate in our outreach events and shadowing.
  • How much of a time commitment is AAPP?
    One GBM each month plus any outreach or shadowing you are interested in attending.
  • What happens at AAPP’s meetings?
    We have experts in the neurologic and psychiatric pharmacy world come in to speak with us about their careers and pathways. We also have had individuals living with mental illness come share their stories with us.
  • What would I benefit from being a part of AAPP?
    You would gain knowledge and experience in dealing with patients who suffer from neurologic or psychiatric disorders as well as be a vital part of our team to promote wellness and end stigma in our community.

AAPP is excited to promote our Mental Health Awareness week this year. We have many exciting ideas including a social media blast including a photo booth and snapchat filter on World Mental Health Day! Our organization is also excited to have new outreach projects and events coming this fall to give back to our community. Stay tuned for more information in early fall!
