Carolina Conversations

All UNC faculty, staff and students are invited to attend the first Carolina Conversations of the academic year, The First Amendment and Free Speech at UNC. Discussion will explore what the First Amendment protects, what it does not protect and how it applies in a public university setting. Dr. G. Rumay Alexander, associate vice chancellor/chief diversity officer will moderate. Mark Merrit, vice chancellor and general counsel, will facilitate discussion. Seminar: “Empowering Africa: Women in Leadership”

April 5, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Carolina for Kibera and the UNC Institute of Politics will host a panel event, Empowering Africa: Women in Leadership.  Hear from Kenyan women to learn about issues facing girls and women today across Africa: access to education, economic opportunity, water and sanitation, reproductive health and rights, maternal and child health, child marriage, female genital mutilation, gender-based violence and gender equality.
