The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy has seen significant progress on the implementation of our BEYOND 2021-2024 strategic plan, with the priorities, objectives, and initiatives being interwoven into our day-to-day operations. Our strategic plan is a living document, evolving and changing with our needs. However, this plan was created during the pandemic, and is set to end at the end of 2024. Since our environment continues to change around us in healthcare, education, pharmacy, and pharmaceutical science, the Eshelman School of Pharmacy is setting a course for the next five years after our current plan ends. Building on the same vision, mission, and values of the current strategic plan, the Dean’s Council is conducting a strategic refresh over the next fiscal year led by Associate Dean Roy Zwahlen.

This Fall, our first step is to align on an updated environmental scan. Your input in this survey will be critical in understanding changes in our environment along with internal and external data and reports. All of these inputs will inform various representative committees and groups that will develop an updated Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis representing our School’s view of our present and our future. In the new year, we will share a final version of our environmental scan and will move forward with defining our new priorities, objectives, and initiatives.
