Pathophysiology of GERD and Barrett’s Esophagus

Part of a series of short-form medical animations for the PharmD Pathophysioloy of Human Disease Course, this clip explores the causes and symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease and the subsequent cellular changes that can result in a condition known as Barrett’s esophagus. November 2018.

Virtual Pharmacopedia: Necrotizing Fasciitis

Virtual Pharmacopedia is a student-led repository for clinically relevant information on a range of health conditions. Each topic is divided into standardized sections, such as pathophysiology, pharmacology, and clinical tips, and uses illustrations, diagrams, and animations to supplement the text. This particular animation explores the causes, presentation, and treatment of necrotizing fasciitis, a rapidly spreading bacterial infection of the body’s fascial planes. March 2019.

Causes of Peptic Ulcer Disease

Part of a series of short-form medical animations for the PharmD Pathophysioloy of Human Disease Course, this clip explores common causes of peptic ulcer disease, most notably infection with the bacterial strain Helicobacter Pylori and long-term use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. November 2017.
